Generally, when hearing about intensive green roofs, you think of well-tended gardens on utilized roof areas. Provided that the statics allow it, infinite design possibilities are there with the appropriate ZinCo system build-ups.

The green roof system "Roof Garden" is a multifunctional green roof build-up with high water retention capacity; for lawn, perennials, and on deeper substrate layers also for shrubs and even trees. Combinations with other forms of utilization, e.g. with walkways, terrace areas, driveways, or playgrounds are possible. As a substructure for driveways or foundations, Floradrain® FD 60, the crucial element of the green roof system, can even be filled with concrete – without penetrating the roof skin and without impairing the drainage. The drainage flow rate meets the requirements of German building standard DIN 4095.

 

Unlike the "Roof Garden" or the "Landscaped Underground Garage", where the whole product range from nurseries can be used – suitability for the special habitat provided – ZinCo offers the system build-up "Heather with Lavender" including the plants.

Apart from low-growing Sedum species, the plant community "Heather with Lavender" also contains fragrant herbs and small shrubs, like thyme, oregano, and lavender, which can be completed by colourfully flowering Dianthus species.

The system substrate "Heather with Lavender", which was especially designed for this plant community, combined with the water retention and drainage elements type Floradrain ® FD 40, creates the necessary habitat conditions, so that the "Heather with Lavender" – once rooted – requires only moderate care and maintenance.
